Cosa Sono? Storia di un Dipinto Astratto is the Italian/English Bilingual Interpretation of What Am I? The Story of an Abstract Painting. Created in honor of her exhibition at the Museo Italo Americano museum in San Francisco, CA, Bocchino's acclaimed children's book now reaches even more international artists and honors her Italian heritage.

This is a story about the construction and deconstruction of an abstract painting. Each shape and color represents a real-life element and the colors represent feelings. The painting is put together page by page and teaches a logical and organized approach to visual and literary development.

This book guides children to create their own abstract painting in the same way. Choosing shapes and colors to create their own painting and at the same time create their own story. Based on de-constructivist methods of logic and theory expand in areas of creative thinking.

This is a wonderful book for Pre-K to 3rd grade they learn to translate images into words, colors into feelings, and simple shapes representing their personal world.

Readers will learn to create an abstract painting based on the real world.

Readers will develop a vocabulary about art and will go through Bocchino’s painting with a greater understanding of what they SEE in the abstract painting. The book includes a page in the back of the book with five lessons for the reader to continue to experiment and enjoy art-making and abstract concepts.

After spending time with an abstract painting you may begin to see the world a little bit differently!
